can there be an option to not use ffmpegthumbnailer? my linux distribution has no option to install it (synology DSM) instead put a placeholder image as a thumbnail or something

I'm not familiar with synology DSM or ffmpegthumbnailer but can't you compile it and add it to your PATH? Atleast as a temporal fix

i tried to compile it but it complained about the path where ffmpeg was when compiling

When a static thumbnail is specified in $tinyib_uploads for a video type, ffmpeg is skipped entirely.
